Don’t tell me not to fly, I’ve simply got to.
Hi there. My name is Emily, welcome to my travel journal.
Why does this blog exist?
- Because I need a space to keep and organize my pictures and stories chronologically
- Because it’ll help me remember the more detailed aspects of my adventures
- Because Instagram wouldn’t let me make another account on which to do the above^
- Because it’s fun and an easy way for my friends to keep up with my shenanigans
Some context for those who may need it: I am a 19 year old college student born and raised in Southern California. I live by the beach, I go to school by the beach, and I decided to run away from the beach to study abroad this year. First up is Paris and then Japan in the spring.
Previous traveling includes a couple days in Cabo, some family trips to Las Vegas, Wisconsin and the Grand Canyon, and a few summer visits to Japan when I was much younger.
Hobbies include reading, musical theatre, tennis, surfing, piano and singing. I am particularly interested in performing arts and architecture so that will probably be highlighted in most of my entries. I predict this blog will mostly act as a daily journal / place to shitpost my thoughts which I will try to keep semi-regularly. Other entries may be more specific and much briefer or include reviews/recommendations of cities, foods, etc. that I encounter.
My hope is to continue to write and document my experiences on this site for the following year at least, as well as with any future travels. I would like to be able to revisit and reminisce on my adventures abroad through this blog.
